Matt Bruce, PE
President
Mr. Bruce is the owner and president of BE3. Mr. Bruce has over 12 years of technical knowledge and proficiency through his experiences as a professional mechanical engineer, commissioning agent, and project manager.As a consultant Mr. Bruce has extensive experience in all market sectors with specific focus on MEP systems design and building systems commissioning. Other areas of expertise include energy management/modeling, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling. Prior to consulting Matthew worked as a Contractor’s Project Engineer, where he gained substantial field experience in the delivery of HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and controls systems for data centers.
Kaylyn Harris, PE

Kaylyn Harris, PE, serves as a Mechanical Engineer at BE3 Engineering, bringing over seven years of specialized expertise in HVAC design, commissioning, and building energy modeling. Her diverse portfolio spans multiple sectors, including higher education, commercial, healthcare, data centers, and government projects. Mrs. Harris is dedicated to delivering tailored, timely, and precise engineering solutions, ensuring a customized approach to each client's unique needs, with a keen focus on detail and excellence.
Hieu Vu, CBCP
Director
Hieu brings over two decades of experience in engineering management and project leadership, specializing in critical water systems and HVAC within pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. His roles have included Sr. Manager positions at Pfizer and Baxter, overseeing global engineering initiatives, utilities operations and capital projects. He excels in managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving cost-effective engineering solutions. His background includes expertise in commissioning, validation, and continuous improvement processes.
Adam Soch
Mechanical/Controls EIT
Adam has extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and held roles as a Engineering Manager in Austin, Texas, leading a team of electrical and mechanical engineers responsible for critical plant utility systems, including purified water, water for injection (WFI), HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed gases, building management systems (BMS), and electrical systems. He lead major capital projects, provide technical support for plant utilities, develop long-range upgrade plans, and review project specifications and designs. Adam is particularly skilled in controls systems, with extensive experience in Building Controls Systems, acting as the subject matter expert and system administrator for Austin’s HVAC building management systems and other utility controls. Adam is well known for his strategic planning and technical expertise.
Andrew Carpenter
Design Manager
Andrew is a seasoned Mechanical Designer with over 25 years of experience across a wide range of sectors, including industrial, educational, municipal, and commercial projects. His expertise spans MEP systems, power distribution, and emergency services, with a recent focus on retail and commercial spaces, extending into hospitality and residential areas. Andrew's deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment underpins his ability to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions. Committed to excellence, he ensures every project exceeds client expectations, leveraging a detailed-oriented approach to achieve outstanding results.
Michael Lloyd, PE
Engineering Partner
Mr. Lloyd is an electrical engineer with 20 years of experience in the design of building power, lighting, and special systems. His experience covers all major market sectors, with specialty expertise in the semiconductor and higher education markets. Mr. Lloyd also has extensive experience in the niche market of park and private landscape electrical design, having worked on numerous private developments as well as public parks for the cities of Bee Cave, Waco, and Austin, including Cameron Park in Waco, Waterloo Park, the Waller Creek Trail, Butler Park, and Auditorium Shores.
Jacob Forbes, PE
Engineering Partner
Jacob is an electrical engineer with over two decades of experience in electrical engineering, specializing in innovative solutions across industries. He is owner and Principle Engineer of Forbes Innovation Group where he leads projects from conception to implementation. As Vice President of Engineering at Meridian Solar, Inc., he directed the development of solar energy systems. His extensive experience includes roles in project management, facility engineering, and electrical design, with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Jacob is a Registered Professional Engineer in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas. He is also a LEED AP.
